Another milk incident

I was in my bedroom one night when I heard a clicking noise. I thought that one of the boys was messing around with the gas stove. When I got out to the kitchen the ignitor on the stove would not stop clicking. I tried flipping the breaker and unplugging it but as soon as I plugged it back in the clicking would start again.

Laikynne had been trying to make some hot cocoa and when she went to put her milk in the microwave she spilled it all over the stove. Silly girl! It got milk down in some part (can't remember what it is called) that messed up the ignitor.

Luckiy I married a man who can fix anything. Jaron came home, took the stove apart and it was and good a new. I love you Jaron.

Way to go Landon!!

San Francisco

This is where our trip turned interesting. Jaron really wanted to drive up to San Francisco and take the kids to Alkatraz (not sure if that is spelled right). Now I really didn't want to do this because I'm the type of person that likes to stick to the plan. But Jaron promised me it was only a 3 or 4 hour drive to San Fancisco so I said O.K.

We left Anaheim around 8:00am on Friday morning and headed north. Around 10:00am we were just getting through L.A. so I decide to pull out the atlas to take a look. WE STILL HAD ANOTHER 300 MILE OR SO TO GO!!! I kinda freaked out on Jaron because our 3 hour drive had just turned into 8. We finally got to San Francisco around 4:30pm. We parked and headed to the ferry to go to Alkatraz. Guess what we MISSED THE LAST FERRY BY 5 MINUTES! Now I was really ticked off we spent 8 hours in the car to go to Alkatraz and we miss the ferry, AHHH!!

We decide we would walk over to Pier 49. We found an aquarium and decided we would go there so as not to waste the entire trip. The kids got to pet a shark, they thought that was cool. We spent about an hour and a half there and headed back to the van so we could go find a hotel and get something to eat.

So while we were off enjoying ourselves this is what some jerk did to our car. They broke out the back window and stole Jarons laptop which was under a couple of blankets. We figure that they had been watching us when we got the stroller out of the back because the window was broke right where the computer was at. They also broke into 2 other cars and took their laptops.

So our trip got cut short we had to head home. It was 6:30pm (and remember we had already been in the car since 8:00am). We could not stop at a hotel with our window broke out so we decided to make the 12 hour trip home. We had to stop at Home Depot and find some stuff to cover the window. We ended up leaving about 9:30pm. It was a long drive home. I tried to sleep but couldn't because Jaron was talking to one of his friends on the phone to keep himself awake. Around 3:00am Jaron got tired so I said I would drive for a while. I ended up pulling over at a truck stop around Donners Pass and slept for 2 hours with the car running because it was 6 degrees outside and our window was broken.

We finally made it home around 11:30am Saturday morning. What a trip!!

Corona del Mar Beach

We decided we would go to the beach one day. We didn't really know where we were going so we just drove until we found a beach that didn't have any scary looking people (I really didn't want to get murdered while we were there). This is the one we found it is in Newport Beach. We did see a homeless guy laying under a tree talking to himself about getting a tuxedo to go to a party. We had a lot of fun. We left covered in sand and then left it in our hotel room for the maids to clean up.

Disneyland

Here are some pictures from our trip to disneyland. I won't bore you with all the details but we spent 1 1/2 days at disneyland and 1 1/2 days at California adventure. All 4 kids were really good except for the occasional fight over who would be first in line for a ride. We had a great time.

Ok I decided I had better start blogging about this before I forget what happened. We had decided we were going to suprise the kids with a trip to Disneyland. We did tell them that we were going on a trip we just lied a little and told them we were going to the desert to look at cactus and rocks. They were excited anyway, but I think it was because the got to miss a week of school.

So we got up Sunday morning at 3:30am and loaded the kids in the car with the hope that they would go back to sleep. They didn't they were way to excited to watch movies in the car.

So we were on our way stocked with lots of movies and snacks. We stopped in Las Vegas for lunch. While we were eating I snuck out to the car and left a present for each of the kids on their seat. We gave each of them a shirt. The boys got Mickey Mouse and Laikynne got Minnie Mouse. After the opened their presents we told them we were going to Disneyland instead of the desert. See how excited they were.

Laikynne and Tanner were the only ones to fall asleep during the entire 13 hour drive and that was only for about 45 Minutes. They were all very well behaved considering we were stuck in an 8x6 space for so long. I was very impressed.

Old Movies

OK so lately I have been thinking about the good old days. I started thinking about my favorite movies from Jr. High.

Who didn't love Grease in Jr. high and high school. I think we watch this movie at every sleepover I ever went to. This is now one of Laikynne's favorite movies.

Dirty Dancing is probably still my all time favorite movie. I think I have every word to this movie memorized. I have watched this movie so many times that I had to buy a new VHS tape about 10 years ago because I had worn the first one out.

Goonies is such a fun movie I have watched it with my kids several times and we all love it. Except Landon finds Sloth a little bit scary.

Anyway go watch some old movies and have fun!!

Stinky House = Torn Apart Kitchen

Last Thursday I had asked Laikynne to go out to the garage and get a gallon of milk out of the fridge. Well she walked in and dropped it on the floor and the jug broke open and the entire thing spilled all over the floor. Well we cleaned it all up but I noticed a little coming out from under the island which is attached to the floor. I put paper towels around it to soak it up and thought I had gotten most of it. Fast forward to Saturday morning when I wake up to the smell of death through out the whole house. I tried spraying lysol, opening windows, and using my Scentsy candles nothing worked. It honestly was one of the worst smells ever. So I finally talked Jaron into taking the island apart so I could clean under it. So my kitchen is a mess I have no counter space or electricity in any of the outlets and I have an island laying in the middle of the floor. Jaron is really busy at work right now so I am not sure when it will get put back together. Hopefully he can figure out a away to seal around the edge to keep this from happening again (because I am sure this WILL happen again).

New Years Resolution

Alright so it is a new year and time to make some resolutions. I am going to be easy on myself this year and only make a few that will hopefully be easy to accomplish.

1. Try to blog at least once a week.
2. Have my primary lesson ready by Friday night.
3. Have 3 months of Activity days planned out every 3 months.

Now I had better get busy.

Back to School

The kids have been in school for 2 weeks now and what a great 2 weeks it has been. They were all very excited to go back to school. The first day they all got up and were ready a half hour early ( if only they could do that everyday).

Laikynne is in 4th grade and she was mostly excited to see her friends but she says her favorite thing is recess and she also really likes Science.

Landon is in 2nd grade and really likes his teacher. He told me today that he has not gotten into any trouble NOT EVEN once (not that he really gets into trouble at school he just sometimes talks too much). I asked him what his favorite part of school was and he said that he likes it all.

Bridger is in Kindergarten and is doing great. His favorite part of school is Recess and using the Computers.

It has been nice having the kids back to school. After I drop Bridger off I come home and put Tanner down for a nap. It has been really quiet, almost to quiet. I'm not quite sure what to do with myself, I have actually been bored a couple of times. I DID NOT expect that. This is the first time in 7 years I have had all kids gone or taking a nap. I'm not complaining I really do enjoy them being at school, I just didn't realize how much I enjoy having them at home. Oh well I will get used to it.

Smurf

Laikynne's Braces

Laikynne has been asking for braces since she was about 4. I guess she thought they would be a cool accessory for her clothes or something. Well she finally got her wish, but she doesn't think they are as great as she thought she would. They HURT!!! I just have to remind her that beauty is pain and it will all be worth it when she has straight teeth.

Relaxing summer days

We set the hammock up on the deck this weekend. Tanner has decided that it is a good place to take a nap. He slept for about an hour and a half.

Fun in idaho

We went to Idaho last week. We had alot of fun we stayed at Mark and Terrie's house. The kids had fun swimming. We took them to the splash pad in Rexburg it was a lot of fun.

Happy 7th Birthday

Today was Landon's 7th birthday. It was a fun day. He is excited to be 7. He says he will start acting like a big boy more. And I'm sure he will but he needed to get one more naughty thing in. Notice the long thin bald spot going down his head. He took a nose hair trimmer and shaved a part in his hair. I think this is probably about the 10th time he has cut his own hair. Hopefully this was the last time. He is so funny. Happy Birthday Landon!!

First injury of the summer

We were just getting ready to have cake and ice cream for Landon's birthday when a girl from down the street came to tell me Bridger was hurt.He had been playing in the sprinklers at a neighbors house and on his way home he crashed on his bike and split his chin open. Not only that he was only wearing his swim trunks so he has some road rash on his tummy. I took him to the doctors office and they were able to glue it back together instead of doing stitches. He was tough he didn't cry at all ,not even when he first crashed. I am hoping we don't have anymore emergency room injuries this summer but with 4 kids running around there is always an accident waiting to happen.

So Jaron finally decided to break down and buy a nice used pickup. Even though it won't be getting much use due to the fuel prices. The boys are very excited and insisted on having their shirts off in this picture because it makes the truck look cool. They wanted Jaron to take his shirt off too but they were met with heavy resistence. We thought the glare off Jaron's chest might ruin the picture.

Oh by the way if you know anyone who needs a 1994 Ford F150 or a 1997 Chevy Suburban have them give us a call ;)
